The Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) provides operations support services and business solutions to the community of 10,000 House Members, Officers, and staff.
The CAO organization comprises more than 700 technical and administrative staff working in a variety of areas, including information technology, finance, budget management, human resources, payroll, childcare, food and vending, procurement, logistics and administrative counsel.
This paid Retail Inventory Specialist internship is responsible for supporting the Customer Service Manager with the daily operations of Office Supply Service by promoting effective inventory and merchandising support for the U.
S.
House of Representatives (House), Office of Acquisitions Management.
This support will aid in the successful annual inventory and merchandise planning and strategy for upcoming months.
This intern will have the opportunity to see the day-to-day operations of a successful retail operation and see firsthand how we support the House.
Responsibilities:
Work with staff to receive and verify office supply and gift shop orders; perform inventory of on-hand merchandise; assist in stocking the sales floor; and customer outreach.
Assist in conducting periodic inventory of warehouse, HGS, or OSS items to provide timely and accurate data resolution and reconciliation.
Collaborate with teammates regarding questions related to merchandise inventory and customer issues and requests.
Provide excellent customer support to all users, including senior-level Government leadership.
The successful candidate will complete the internship with a broad experience in retail inventory management and merchandise planning in a retail environment.
Provide additional program support services and other tasks as needed.
paid at an annual rate of $33,878 not to exceed 120 days This is a fulltime internship, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday QUALIFICATIONS :
A student who has demonstrated fundamentals of inventory management and/or merchandise planning.
Ability to maintain professionalism in a team environment.
Ability to lift boxes of merchandise.
Observant; strong attention to detail.
Clear, concise communication and organizational skills.
Desire to learn and grow professionally grow.
Desire to make contributions and offer insights that lead to the growth and success of the business.
Strong interpersonal skills Currently an undergraduate student attending a college or university.
Continued employment is contingent upon satisfactorily completing a criminal history records check (or other applicable security clearance) and a pre-employment drug-test (pre-identified position only).
